探索未知是人类文明的永恒主题，火星从古至今就是人类想象与研究的热点。对火星的探索即是对人类未来的投资，也是对历史文明的反思。在一个全新的星球，我们应该如何应对陌生而充满挑战的生存环境，如何建立起新的社会和文明，如何构建更公平的秩序、更可持续的发展？针对火星登陆的设计议题就是这样一个有关人类未来星际文明构建的新道场。“火星玩家”展则是同济大学设计创意学院2017级工业设计方向的同学们在这一道场下的设计研究与探索的成果展示。借助“火星”这个对人类既熟悉又陌生的设计背景，来自D&I 的年轻设计师们尝试回答一系列富有挑战的设计命题，例如：如何基于数据抓取构建认知未来的信息链条；如何梳理行为活动与功能造型间的因果关系等有关在火星移动、探索和生存的重要问题。展览将火星探索分为探索生存、开拓延展和创造文明三个阶段。十三件展品在此情境下分别从火星探测所面临的地形、气候、人类文明发展等角度提出了各自的概念设计。
Exploring the unknown is one of the ever-lasting topics of human civilization. Mars has long been the place of human imagination and research for understanding our universe since ancient times. The exploration of Mars is an investment in the future of mankind and a reflection on our current civilization. On a different planet, what could we learn from our earth civilization, how to face survival challenges, how to build up a new civilization, and how to develop more sustainably? Designing for Mars exploration is such an experimental ground for thinking about our future civilizations. The exhibition, Mars Players, is composed by research and design outcomes from students’ works at College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University. With the both familiar and unfamiliar design background of Mars, young designers from D&I try to answer a series of challenging design propositions related to the mobility, exploration and survival on Mars. The exhibition consists of three stages: Exploration, Expansion, Colonization. Thirteen exhibits have presented their own thinking and exploration from the perspectives of terrain, climate, and civilization development.

The overall goal of the college is to establish an international, innovative, forward-looking, and research-oriented world-class college of design with distinguished characteristics.
