Cutting up Time and Space
(Cutting up Time and Space)为主题,旨在说明在艾德如何通过设计教育与项目式学习,使传统的本地文化可以得到妥善的呈现或转化为新的产物,达成某种古今之间的对话。
The theme of the exhibition is "Cutting up Time and Space", which aims to illustrate how traditional local culture can be properly presented or transformed into new products through design education and project-based learning at EAaD, creating a dialogue between the past and the present. Four groups of works were selected from students of the three disciplines (Visual Communication Design, Digital Media Art, and Environmental Design) at EAaD. Two topics are included: 1. digital reconstruction and innovative design of ancient relics, such as "No Boundaries" and "Longevity". 2. innovative planning and empowerment for existing buildings or old towns, such as "Information Visualization Design of Xi'an City Wall" and "Feng Fei Ming". All of these exhibits come from real projects and are the result of long-term research, repeated argumentation and optimization by students and instructors for a specific topic. By exhibiting these works and the process of their creation, they reflect EAaD's educational philosophy of "learning by doing".
