The École des Arts Décoratifs is training a new generation of artists and thinkers to become the transformers of tomorrow. Its young designers and architects are thereby conceiving new customs and imaginaries, spread through the ecological transition, social inclusion issues and common good. Designers get involved in city and rurality territories, focusing on the individual interacting with his environment and reinventing his everyday rituals. They interrogate the way we can reconnect with a more natural rythm, with sustainable objects refering to old rituals and natural ressources. The architectural approach interrogates the habitableness of the world. It doesn’t concentrate on the building itself but on its connection with public spaces and with changing environment. The way you feel and live somewhere depends on the way the area is conceived and built. Simple or sophisticated, an area conception give pause for emotion and generate feelings. Based on practice, these interdisciplinary approaches suggest new ways of interacting and feeling our spaces and surroundings. Doing so, they reflect our contemporary big questionings and our active part in the world.
