Picture book is an art combining image with text. It has a clear audience and is displayed in the form of reading with page turning as the carrier. Picture Book Creation Studio, established in September 2004, is subordinate to the City Design School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. It is one of the earliest studios to set up a professional discipline of picture books in colleges and universities at home and abroad. At first, the studio had no experience to follow in how to teach and learn picture book creation. We started from scratch, developed from less to more, and we have been following the principle of "academic first, application-oriented; advocating new ideas and related to society". Gradually, we built a set of independent, innovative and complete picture book teaching system. The more than ten years since Picture Book Creation Studio were gradually growing are also the years when Chinese people's understanding of picture book art and the quality of Chinese original picture books has been improved year by year. We have always been committed to the academic research, exchange and promotion of picture book art, cultivating a young generation of picture book creator force who can understand picture books and publishing with the ability of planning, editing and painting. We regard the revitalization of Chinese original picture books as the mission and responsibility that we should consciously shoulder. At the same time, we also convey our culture to the world in the form of picture books, and create an international exchange way of "Introduction and Promotion", which is the direction for which teachers and students of Picture Book Creation Studio have been working and practicing.
