Foundations: 100 years after VKhUTEMAS
策展项目“blip blip blip “最初于 2011 年在利兹成立，并于 2020 年搬迁 到莫斯科，位于温扎沃德当代艺术中心的 BHSAD 画廊 UContemporary 中。 本次 BHSAD 在 FutureLab 教博会上带来的展览“根基:莫斯科高等艺术暨技术学院（VKhUTEMAS)）100 周年后的遗产”最初于 2020 年 11 月在 blip blip blip 上展出，并由此揭示英国教育系统中的基础课程或许来自于 这所百年前俄罗斯最为激进的艺术学校的经典遗产。展览展出了莫斯科 MARСHI Мuseum借出的VKhUTEMAS 档案照片以及BHSAD当前的艺术设计基础课程作品。 作为十月革命后苏联激进的艺术教育改革的成果，短暂而传奇的VKhUTEMAS于1920年在莫斯科成立，并与当时的先锋艺术运动产生了深刻联系，成为构成主义活动的主要中心。学校倡导艺术和建筑的创新，营造了一种知识探究和实践实验的氛围。它的影响范围远远超出了苏联，并与包豪斯有着密切的联系。而最初在利兹艺术学院和纽卡斯尔国王学院开设的英国基础设计课程不仅直接受到包豪斯的影响，也间接受到VKhUTEMAS的影响。
blip blip blip is a curatorial programme which was originally established in Leeds in 2011 which was re-located in Moscow in 2020, where it is housed in the BHSAD’s gallery UContemporary in Winzavod Centre for Contemporary Art. The exhibition presented in 2021 FutureLab, Foundation: 100 Years after VKhUTEMAS, was originally shown at blip blip blip in Moscow in November 2020 and speculates that a possible legacy of the radical Russian art school is the Foundation course in the UK education system. The exhibition exhibited archive photographs from VKhUTEMAS loaned by MARCHI Museum, Moscow alongside current Foundation work from BHSAD. The short lived and legendary art school VKhUTEMAS was established in Moscow in 1920 as a result of radical reforms in art education after the Oc-tober revolution. VKhUTEMAS is asso-ciated with the Russian avant garde and was a major centre for constructivism. The school championed innovation in art and architecture and fostered an atmosphere of intellectual enquiry and practical experimentation. The influence of VKhUTEMAS extended far beyond Soviet Russia. It had particularly strong links with the Bauhaus, while the British basic design courses, initially developed at Leeds College of Art and Kings College, Newcastle, were directly influenced by the Bauhaus, and more indirectly by VKhUTEMAS.
