森林是大自然睿智的馈赠,木材中蕴含着无限的能量。 本展览以同济大学设计创意学院(D&I)师生的创作,展示木材不同于常规栋梁之才,而是具有柔韧可塑性的一面。 无论是实木还是胶合板,以机械加工、湿弯技术 * 、冷压技术的实验,木料在设计师手中被随意拿捏,成为功能与造型兼具的创新的设计。 展览分为三个篇章:能力木(ENERGY.WOOD),层弯木(PLAY.WOOD)和木板凳(ST.WOOD)构成,并合并展出数字化、参数化辅助设计的时尚饰品。 能力木(ENERGY.WOOD)是同济大学设计创意学院周洪涛教授的创作,以挑战实木的柔韧性能,展示木材饱含的巨大能量。* 湿弯技术是周洪涛教授独创的实木弯曲方式,展览也将展示其工作进程。 层弯木(PLAY.WOOD)是以基于师生设计概念而深化发展的系列小批量生产的家具。材料采用芬欧汇川(UPM)的环保板材(WISA 和 GRADA*),家具以当代语言诠释功能和形式的创新。 *GRADA 是芬欧汇川(UPM)研制的热塑性胶合板。 木板凳(ST.WOOD)展示部分同济大学设计创意学院(D&I)历届学生以木材为主设计制作的板凳,在对使用功能的思考和辅材的应用上大胆出位,将满满的想象力落在各自的板凳设计上,呈现于家具实物。 展示作品由同济大学设计创意学院材料与应用创新实验室(Material and Application Design Labora-tory, MAD) 协同造物实验室(Making LAB)提供,实验室以探索当代哲匠之艺(Design through making),面对涌现之境(Exploring emerging future)而创造。 展览由上海同济天地创意设计有限公司承办,芬欧汇川提供板材赞助。
Forest is the gift of nature wisdom, and wood contains unlimited energy. This exhibition, presented by the faculty of Design and Innovation (D&I) of Tongji University, shows the flexible and malleable side of wood, which is different from the conventional materials. Whether it is solid wood or plywood, with the experiments of mechanical processing, wet bending technology * and cold pressing technology, the wood is freely handled in the hands of the designer, and it becomes an innovative design with both function and shape. The exhibition is divided into three chapters: ENERGY.WOOD, play. WOOD and St. WOOD. The exhibition also showcases digital and parametric design of fashion accessories. ENERGY.WOOD is the creation of Professor Zhou Hongtao, school of Design and Innovation, Tongji University, to challenge the flexibility of solid WOOD and demonstrate the enormous ENERGY contained in wood. * Wet bending technology is original solid wood bending method created by Professor ZHOU Hongtao. The exhibition will also show his work progress. PLAY.WOOD is a series of small-batched production furniture based on the design concept from teachers and students. The materials are UPM's environmental friendly panels- WISA and GRADA*, and the furniture interprets innovations in function and form within the contemporary context. *GRADA is a thermoplastic plywood developed by UPM. Most of the benches designed and made by the previous students of The School of Design and Innovation (D&I) of Tongji University are related to wood. They are bold in their thinking on the use of functions and the application of auxiliary materials, and put their imaginations into the design of their benches, which are presented in real furniture. The exhibited works were jointly provided by The Material and Application Design Laboratory (MAD) and Making LAB of Tongji University, which were created to explore the Design through Making and contemporary Exploring Emerging Future. The exhibition was organized by Shanghai Tongji Tiandi Creative Design Co., LTD., with the sponsorship of board provided by UPM.
